Ingredients:
- 1 ½ lb of chicken breast (This is typically equal to 2 chicken breasts)
- 5 cups of chicken broth or about 1 carton
Utensils:
- One large pot
- Stove
- A bowl
- 2 forks
- Cutting board
Preparation:
- Place your chicken breast and bone broth in a pot. Place the chicken breast side by side to try and reduce overlapping and add chicken broth until it covers your chicken breast by 1 inch
- Bring the chicken broth to a boil. Once the broth is boiling reduce the heat to medium low and let the broth simmer for about 15-18 minutes. The chicken should be white all the way through.
- Remove the chicken from the pot using the forks or tongs and place it on a cutting board and allow it to cool enough to handle
- Using the two forks shred the chicken and store it in a airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days!
Pro Tip:
Shredded chicken is great to make ahead of time and can be used in many recipes including chicken salad, taco salad, or tacos. Just season it however you would like before using in other recipes!
