Ingredients:

  • One russet potato
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder

Utensils:

  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Sheet pan
  • Bowl

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425℉
  2. Cut the potato into ¼ inch strips
  3. Soak the potato strips in a bowl of cold water for 30 minutes and then drain (this releases the starch from the potato and will allow it to crisp up better in the oven)
  4. Using paper towels thoroughly dry your potato slices and then place them back into the bowl
  5. Add the olive oil and seasonings to the bowl and thoroughly coat the potato strips with the seasonings
  6. Place the potato strips on a sheet pan lined with aluminum foil and spread them out evenly so they are not overlapping
  7. Place in the oven to bake for 30 minutes taking them out and flipping them half way through
  8. After 30 minutes remove from the oven and serve with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy on their own!
